Team Japan has won the World Baseba

Team Japan has won the World Baseball Challenge defeating the Roswell Invaders 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th inning in the Championship Game.

Japan went to their ace Yamaoka Taisuke who pitched seven innings striking out twelve Invader hitters. Katayama Junichi pitched a scoreless 8th and Stake Katsutoshi pitched a scoreless 9th for Team Japan.

Jim Smith hit a pivotal two run homer for the Invaders and Nate Ferrell turned in a 2-3 day at the plate. Kaohu Gaspar went 2-4.

On the mound for the Invaders Darrell Thompson went 5-1/3 inning allowing three runs. Eric Gleese came out of the pen to pitch two full innings allowing 1 run. Tyler Stirewald pitched 1.1 inning allowing 1 run which would be the game winning run. It occurred with the bases loaded on a wild pitch. Jim Smith hit a two run home run for the Invaders.

The Invaders won every game in the tournament they played with the exception of the two games against Team Japan.

The Roswell Invaders won the Silver Medal by finishing in 2nd place. Calgary Sidewarm Nation won the Bronze by beating Thurston in the 3rd place game.

Bobby Webb went 4-4 for the Ivnaders and Homered twice with 4 rbis. Joey Miller homered for the Invaders. Gavin Lavallee homered as well for the Invaders. Morgan Blatnik hit a walk off homer that forced the run rule and the end of the game.

Cody had 239 regular season at bats with 100 hits and 22 home runs and 76 rbis. He was the three hole hitter for the Roswell Invaders that set virtually ever offensive record in the Pecos League. Cody split time between third base and catching and lead Roswell to possibly their best season ever.

The Roswell Invaders dropped game 2 of the World Baseball Challenge 9-3 to Team Japan. Hasegawa Takuma and Sugano Tsuyoshi went 3-5 for Japan with 2 runs scored. Kondo Hitoshi pitched 7 innings allowing 3 runs and 6 hits with 4 strikeouts for Team Japan. Katayama Junichi pitched 1 scoreless inning striking allowing no hits and no runs. Dohi Seiya pitched the 9th inning scoreless for Team Japan.

Darrell Thompson took the loss for the Roswell Invaders. He pitched 6 innings allowing 9 hits and 6 earned runs. He struck out 5 and walked 4. Anthony Pastrana pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs. Mike Gomez pitched 1 inning allowing 3 runs for the Invaders. Bobby Webb and Gavin Lavalee homered for Invaders. Brett Balkan went 2-3 for the Invaders. Morgan Blatnik went 2-4 for the Invaders. The Invaders as a team had 13 hits.

The Roswell Invaders outlasted the Kamloops Sun Devils 8-7 in their opening game in the World Baseball Challenge. Cody Bishop homered twice, Cody Coffman, Joey Miller and Kaohu Gaspar all homered for the Invaders.

Eric Gleese started for the Invaders and pitched 6 innings. Nick Bozman, Rob Rizzitelli, and Tyler Stirewald each pitched an inning as the Invaders held on to win.

Canadian Ian Horne from the Topeka Train Robbers hit third and served as teams DH. He was 2-4. Roswell will face team Japan on 8/14 at 4PM

The Roswell Invaders have accepted an invitation to participate in the World Baseball Challenge August 12-20 in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.

The Invaders schedule and all team information can be found at http://www.RoswellInvaders.com

The Invaders will replace a team from the Bahamas who were unable to make the trip. Other teams in the 2016 field are from Canada, Japan and the United States.

The current incarnation of the event, beginning in 2009, has been held every two years at Prince George Citizen Field in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. It is sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation, Baseball Canada and Baseball B.C.

In 2009 The United States National Collegiate Baseball Team defeated the German national team by a score of 8-1 in the final. Drew Pomeranz of the University of Mississippi pitched a one-hitter against the tournament"s only European team. The Tucson Saguaros outlasted the R

The Tucson Saguaros outlasted the Roswell Invaders 8-7 to take Game 1 of the Southern Division Finals. Ryan Retz drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 13th with a two out double. Jimmy Heck hit a three run homer and drove in another run for the Saguaros. The Saguaros used a total of 24 players and 9 pitchers in the game.

The Saguaros took a 6-4 lead into the 9th inning where the Invaders rallied to tie the game. Cody Coffman drove in the tying run and made a huge defensive play to save the game for the Invaders.

Steven Borkowski pitche 7 innings with 10 strikeouts for the Saguaros.

The two teams will meet again at 7PM tonight in Tucson for game 2.

The Alpine Cowboys (0-2) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Roswell Invaders (2-0) dominated in a 10-2 win at Joe Bauman Park.

The Roswell Invaders scored five runs in the sixth on the Roswell Invaders scored in the sixth on a two-run single by Louis Martini, an RBI single by Bobby Webb, and a two-run single by Roche Woodard.

Cody Coffman did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Roswell Invaders, reaching base three times. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. He homered in the first inning.

Blake Oliver got the win for the Roswell Invaders thanks to eight strikeouts. Oliver allowed two earned runs on eight hits and no walks over seven innings.

Matt Henriksen paced the Alpine Cowboys at the plate. Henriksen went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.

Pat Lemmo ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

The Alpine Cowboys (0-1) didnt stand a chance on Friday, as the Roswell Invaders (1-0) captured a blowout 12-6 win at Joe Bauman Park.

The Roswell Invaders scored six runs in the second on the Roswell Invaders scored in the second on an RBI single by Rene Moreda, a two-run single by Louis Martini, an RBI double by Cody Coffman, and a two-run single by Bobby Webb.

Coffman racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders.

Phildrick Llewellyn racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Alpine Cowboys. He homered in the second inning.

David Johnson recorded his first win for the Roswell Invaders even though he allowed six runs over nine innings. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered nine hits.

Joey Webb (0-1) was the games losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out seven.

A walk-off error from Joe Borowski brought home the winning run for the White Sands Pupfish (28-39) in an 11-10 victory over the Roswell Invaders (43-23) at Griggs Park on Wednesday.

Borowski reached base three times. He doubled in the sixth inning.

The two teams combined for 21 runs and 20 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using 12 pitchers in total.

Eric Kalbfliesh put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the White Sands Pupfish. He singled in the eighth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Rob Rizzitelli got the win, running his season record to 1-4. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Thomas Huddleston couldnt get it done on the mound for the Roswell Invaders, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.

The White Sands Pupfish were sparked by Kalbfliesh and Graylin Derke, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.

Both the Roswell Invaders (44-23) and the White Sands Pupfish (28-40) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Roswell Invaders that were able to take advantage, pulling out an 8-7 win at Joe Bauman Park.

Rene Moreda reached base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third and sixth innings.

Joe Borowski racked up two RBIs on four hits for the White Sands Pupfish. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and eighth innings.

Steven Cazares improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Cazares struck out five, walked none and gave up 14 hits.

Taylor Elman (2-4) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four.

The Roswell Invaders (43-22) shut the door early on the White Sands Pupfish (27-39), capturing a 13-1 victory on Tuesday at Joe Bauman Park.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Roswell Invaders left no doubt about the eventual outcome. A three-run double by Kaohu Gasper during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Roswell Invaders.

Joey Miller racked up six RBIs on one hit for the Roswell Invaders. He homered in the third inning.

Darrell Thompson brought the heat against the White Sands Pupfish during his outing. The White Sands Pupfish managed just one hit off of the the Roswell Invaders pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out eight during his six innings of work.

Graylin Derke was solid at the plate for the White Sands Pupfish. Derke went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

The bats were busy at Kokernot Field on Sunday, and when the dust cleared the Alpine Cowboys (31-30) had a 10-8 win over the Roswell Invaders (42-21).

The teams totaled 27 hits in the game.

The Alpine Cowboys were led by Eric Fergusons hitting. Ferguson went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the third and seventh innings.

Ely Gallegos eight strikeouts were enough to push the Alpine Cowboys past the Roswell Invaders. Gallego allowed one earned run on nine hits and two walks over seven innings.

A walk-off solo blast from Nate Ferrell brought home the winning run for the Alpine Cowboys (29-30) in a 10-9 victory over the Roswell Invaders at Kokernot Field on Friday.

Ferrell racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Alpine Cowboys. He homered in the ninth inning.

Jon Denney blasted two home runs for the Alpine Cowboys. Denney went 4-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Denney homered in the sixth and seventh innings.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 19 total runs and 26 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with eight pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

Chris Rogers improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Alpine Cowboys. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Joey Miller hit two home runs, but it wasnt enough to carry the Roswell Invaders (42-18) to a win on Thursday, as the Roswell Invaders fell to the Alpine Cowboys (28-30) 11-10 at Kokernot Field.

A walk-off single by Crisford Adames gave the Alpine Cowboys the win.

Adames racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Alpine Cowboys. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 21 total runs and 27 hits during the game. There were nine pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

JJ Graham went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Alpine Cowboys. He singled in the second, sixth, and ninth innings.

Chris Rogers recorded his third win of the year for the Alpine Cowboys. Rogers struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Calby struck out six and allowed three walks and three hits.

Vladimer Gomez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the White Sands Pupfish, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

The Roswell Invaders scored in the sixth on an error, an error, an RBI single by Rene Moreda, a home run by Luis Martini, a three-run home run by Kaohu Gasper, and a solo home run by Jim Smith.

Martini racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders.

Eric Maria reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

The Roswell Invaders (41-16) beat the White Sands Pupfish (23-35) 9-6 on Monday at Joe Bauman Park behind Cody Coffman, who had two extra base hits. He singled in the first inning, homered in the fourth inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Zac Johnson was solid at the plate for the White Sands Pupfish. Johnson went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Roswell Invaders (39-16) outscored the Santa Fe Fuego (15-40) 16-9.

The two teams combined for 25 hits in the game.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Roswell Invaders to easily put away the Santa Fe Fuego. A hit by pitch, a two-run error, and a three-run home run by Louis Martini during the second inning fueled the Roswell Invaders offense early.

Martini racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders.

Thomas Huddleston put together a nice outing. Huddleston gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Darrell Thompson recorded the win for the Roswell Invaders even though he allowed five runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

An impressive effort by Bobby Webb carried the Roswell Invaders (37-16) to a 24-13 win over the Santa Fe Fuego (15-38) on Thursday at Fort Marcy Park.

Webb rocked the Santa Fe Fuego with two home runs. Webb went 3-6 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Webb homered in the first and second innings.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 37 total runs and 41 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using nine pitchers in total.

The Roswell Invaders blew out the Santa Fe Fuego thanks to 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Roswell Invaders scored six runs in the first on the Roswell Invaders scored in the first on a solo home run by Rene Moreda, a three-run home run by Webb, an RBI single by Brett Balkan, and a hit by pitch.

The Salina Stockade were in full control after five innings as Tim Blackmon allowed 2 runs and the Stockade lead 9-2. This would be all the runs Salina would tally and Roswell attacked the Salina Bullpen. Sip Garza pitced 1.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Francisco Leon pitched 1.1 innings allowing 4 runs. Chad Flick pitched 1/3 of an inning alllowing 2 hits and the game winning walkoff run.

Kyle Perez, M Gomez, M Scimanico and Lance Fairchild combined to pitch a scoreless four innings for the Invaders Bullpen.

The Invaders kept on pace with Tucson Saguaros who beat White Sands. The Salina Stockade are fortunate that the Santa Fe Fuego beat the Topeka Train Robbers. Salina still maintains a 1/2 game lead over Topeka for the final playoff spot in the Northern Division.

Eric Kalbfliesh was cold coming off the bench, but Kalbfliesh warmed up quickly as Kalbfliesh stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the White Sands Pupfish (16-28) to a 12-8 win over the Roswell Invaders (29-12) on Wednesday at Griggs Park, Alamogordo NM.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Kalbfliesh came to the plate and singled.

The Tucson Saguaros were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Tucson Saguaros led until the eighth inning, but the Roswell Invaders took the lead back on a solo home run by Coffman.

The Tucson Saguaros had no answer for Kyle Perez, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Perez gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Webb racked up eight RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders. He homered in the first, third, and seventh innings.

The two teams combined for 25 runs and 32 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using 11 pitchers in total.

The Roswell Invaders came out swinging, scoring five runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Santa Fe Fuego early. The Roswell Invaders scored in the first on a sacrifice fly by Joey Miller, an RBI single by Cody Coffman, and a three-run home run by Webb.

The Roswell Invaders (4-1) continued to pile up the runs on Tuesday, scoring nine runs in the last three innings, on the way to a 22-6 landslide win over the Garden City Wind (2-3) at Clint Lightner.

The Roswell Invaders scored nine runs in the second on the Roswell Invaders scored in the second on an RBI single by David Johnson, a two-run single by Christian Johnson, a two-run single by Cody Bishop, and a home run by Cody Coffman.

Bishop racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Roswell Invaders.

The Roswell Invaders relied on Johnson to eat up innings en route to the win. Johnson pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four.

Clay Ardeeser led the Garden City Winds offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He singled in the fourth, eighth, and ninth innings.

Ryan Stapp was the games losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

Manny Colon went 1-4 and hit a home run as the Garden City Wind (2-2) took home a 5-2 victory over the Roswell Invaders (3-1) at Clint Lightner on Monday. He homered in the sixth inning.

Marty Anderson picked up the win for the Garden City Wind. Anderson allowed two earned runs, eight hits and one walk while striking out six over 7 2/3 innings of work.

Steven Cazares took the loss for the Roswell Invaders. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.

An excellent effort by Jim Smith spurred the Roswell Invaders (3-0) to a 14-2 win over the Topeka Train Robbers (0-3) on Sunday at Bettis Complex.

Smith racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth and seventh innings.

The Roswell Invaders blew out the Topeka Train Robbers thanks to 17 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Roswell Invaders scored five runs in the sixth on the Roswell Invaders scored in the sixth on an RBI home run by Smith, a three-run home run by Smith, and an RBI single by Rene Morada.

Ryan Ward picked up the win for the Roswell Invaders. Ward allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.

Chris Scura racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Topeka Train Robbers. He homered in the sixth inning.

TJ Pruneda hopes every outing could go as well as Saturday, as Pruneda tossed a shutout to carry the Roswell Invaders (2-0) to a 12-0 victory over the Topeka Train Robbers (0-2) at Bettis Complex.

Pruneda held the Topeka Train Robbers scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up six.

The Roswell Invaders blew out the Topeka Train Robbers thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Roswell Invaders scored four runs in the seventh on the Roswell Invaders scored in the seventh on an error, a fielders choice, an RBI single by Christian Johnson, a hit by pitch, and a wild pitch.

The Topeka Train Robbers couldnt get anything going so long as Lance Fairchild was on the hill. The Topeka Train Robbers managed just two hits off of Fairchild, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out four during his six innings of work.

John De Leon pitched lights out for the Topeka Train Robbers. De Leon held the Roswell Invaders hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Roche Woodard homered for the Invaders who lost the game 6-3. "We are excited to get to play against Sioux Falls, they have great players and it let"s us know where we stand before we open with Topeka." said Field Manager Bryan Kloppe.

The Canaries are members of the American Association and are managed by Chris Paterson who was the first manager in Invaders History.

The defending Champion Roswell Invaders are pleased to announce Bryan Kloppe as their 2016 Field Manager. Bryan is no stranger to Roswell as he pitched for the Invaders in both the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

"Bryan knows the Invaders, Roswell and will be a seemless fit for the Invaders. He will be a good representation that Invaders Fans will be glad to have as their manager." Andrew Dunn of the Pecos League.

Bryan Kloppe grew up in Phoenix, AZ where he graduated from Millennium High School. From 2000-2008 he worked as a batboy and clubhouse assistant for Major League Baseball. Notable managers that he worked for during this time include Buck Showalter, Tony Pena, and Tommy John. In 2008, he moved to Kansas to attend Manhattan Christian College and Kansas State University. At MCC he earned 4 varsity letters while pitching in 75 games and setting school records in appearances, innings pitched, strikeouts, complete games, saves and postseason wins. His favorite memory from college was throwing 11 shutout innings while only allowing three hits and picking up two victories in one day during the 2012 NCCAA World Series. After graduation he volunteered as an assistant coach during three seasons, coaching third base and the pitching staff for the Crusaders. In 2013, Bryan signed his first professional contract with the Edinburg Roadrunners. Under manager Ozzie Canseco they won the United League championship. In 2014, Bryan played for the Brownsville Charros and finished the season with the Roswell Invaders before going to Melbourne, Australia for winter ball. In Melbourne Bryan was named team MVP for the Cheltenham Rustlers and posted a 2.34 ERA in 59.2 innings. He returned to pitch for Roswell in 2015 and the Invaders captured the Pecos League Championship.

2015 Field Manager Chris Treibt signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters in the Atlantic League and is eligible to get his contract renewed. "Bryan will be a great guy for the Invaders, he helped us alot this year and he knows exactly how things work." says Chris Treibt.
