The Roswell Invaders and the City of Roswell hosted a meet and greet with Field Manager Chris Ebright.
Roswell Fans and the Supporters are very excited for the 2013 season under Ebright. Coach Ebright discussed his current players that he is bringing in, his coaching philosphy and his coaching background.
Fans can"t wait for the 2013 season to begin. Roswell begins the 2013 season in an exhibition game in El Paso against the El Paso Diablos. The Invaders then begin the regular season at home by hosting the Las Vegas Train Robbers.

Andrew Dunn, owner of the Roswell Invaders is inviting the public to meet the new head coach of the team – Mr. Chris Ebright. This will be an opportunity to come and meet the new coach, ask questions about the upcoming season, and to get to know more about your Invaders Baseball team. The Roswell Invaders are a Professional Baseball Team in the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs. Other teams in the Pecos League include: (Alpine Cowboys, Las Cruces Vaqueros, Las Vegas Train Robbers, Pecos Bills, Raton Osos, Roswell Invaders, Santa Fe Fuego, Taos Blizzard, Trinidad Triggers, and White Sands Pupfish). The Diablos and Invaders each have new managers for the 2013 season. The Diablos lineup is much more powerful than their 2011 lineup.
This will be the last year for the Diablos in the American Association with the San Diego Padres moving a AAA team into a new ballpark in downtown El Paso. The future of the Diablos is unknown. Tim Johnson is the manager of the Diablos and he was the American Association manager of the year. He managed the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1998 season in the Major League. He lead the Diablos to a huge turnaround when he was hired in 2012. The Diablos nearly made the playoffs in the Association despite being buried in the cellar in the first month.
The Invaders now have Chris Ebright as manager, Chris will be managing his first game in the Pecos League against the Diablos.

The Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League have agreed to have Max Bat as their Bat Sponsor for the 2013 season. Max Bat is also the Bat Provider of the Taos Blizzard in the Pecos League. Max Bat is riding a huge wave of popularity as three of the San Francisco Giants used Max Bats in the World Series. Their customization is important for the Invaders that thrive on Lime Green Hats, Jerseys and Bats.
Several Invaders over the years have used Max Bats. Max Bat is a true custom bat maker so the Lime Green/Navy Bat is not a problem.
Max Bats is one of many companies that have contacted the Pecos League about being an exclusive bat. The Pecos League will have either eight or nine teams and has eliminated the use of composite bats for the 2013 season. Each team in the Pecos League will have an exclusive bat contract.

Chris Ebright will manage the Roswell Invaders for the 2013 season.
The Roswell Invaders are pleased to announce Chris Ebright will be their field manager for the 2013 season. The Invaders have the all time highest winning percentage in the Pecos League. They won their Championship in 2011 and made the playoffs in 2012.
Chris has operated as the head coach in two collegiate leagues over the past three seasons.
He most recently led the Newark Pilots in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League in 2012. In 2011 the Pilots won the Championship with a 30-24 record. His Pilots finished with a 29th national collegiate league ranking by Baseball America. The league chose the head coach for the All-Star game. Ebright started with the Hornell Dodgers in the New York Collegiate League in 2009 and 2010. He compiled a two-year 53-37 record where they won the 2009 Western Division Championship. The Dodgers were ranked in the Top 20 for three weeks during the season. He was runner-up for Coach of the Year in 2009 and named All-Star coach in 2010. His coaching career started in 2007 as an assistant with Medicine Hat Mavericks in the Western Major League in Alberta, Canada. As a collegiate player, Ebright played catcher at Saginaw Valley State University. His senior season in 2002, he batted .263 in starting 28 of 38 games played.

Roswell Invaders have finalized a deal with the city of Roswell to keep the Invaders in Roswell at Joe Bauman Park permanently. For the last three years fans and supporters have attempted to move the Invaders out of Joe Bauman Park and into New Mexico Military Academy.
The Invaders were close to moving to NMMI for the 2013 season but after research NMMI requested that the Invaders participate in fund raising for the installation of field turf.
The Invaders requested a reduction in their lease at Joe Bauman Park which was five times higher than any other lease in the Pecos League. The City has agreed to work with the Invaders as long as the number of dates are reduced. The Invaders will reduce the number of dates they use the facility.
With the Current Schedule the Invaders will have 35 home games and be in the Southern Division with Las Cruces, Alamogordo and Alpine.
In 2011 they played 53 games in Joe Bauman Stadium and with Spring Training and practices were there almost 65 dates.
In 2012 they played 38 games in Joe Bauman Stadium.
The Invaders will move Spring Training to Alamogordo and not report to Roswell until their first home game. They will begin the regular season in Alpine.
The number one request from the fans, city and follows alike is the Lime Green.
The Invaders will bring back their Lime Green Jerseys and Lime Green Pants that they wore in 2011 and for the first half of 2012. For the first time in 2013 the Invaders will wear Lime Green Hats as their primary hats. The Invaders also have a new bat sponsor that will provide the Invaders will two tone Lime Green Bats.
The Invaders with have a much improved staff and game day operations for 2013.
Their staff will be named on November 15, 2012.

The Roswell Invaders withdrawl attempts to play at NMMI.
For the 2nd year in a row the Invaders failed to land at NMMI and will either go back to Coca-Cola Park or move games on the road.
NMMI was seeking for the Invaders to assist in fund raising for a new field turf infield.
After researching have the Invaders play games at NMMI, it was determined it would be neccessary for artifical turf.
Under the plan the Invaders and NMMI would split the cost of the infield which could be as high as $250k.
The Pecos League does not currently play on artifical turf fields.
The Invaders will move into the Northern Division have fewer home games and play at Joe Bauman Park.

"I didn"t speak with officals from NMMI, I was told that they wanted us to split participation in installing a fieldturf infield.
We don"t build fields or make improvements we are strictly tenants. I think the NMMI Surface is great for both College and Pro.
We share fields in all of our eight cities with no problems with wear and tear. Their new Juco coach wanted turf and it is their field.
Both in 2012 and 2013 almost all of our fans begged us to move the team to NMMI, I tried and it will not be happen.
They own the field it is out of my control. Any baseball person of any caliber can immediately NMMI is a better surface and it will sit idle againn next summer.
The City of Roswell again welcomed us with open arms so that is where we need to play. I am ready to rebuild the staff and the team with the options we have in Roswell. The Welcome mat is becoming very very thin in Roswell. "
The Invaders will begin Spring Training likely in Trinidad, Co or Raton New Mexico and begin with nine road games before settling back in at Joe Bauman Park.
The Invaders will begin signing players and announce their new coaching staff within one month.

The Invaders are in high gear getting ready for the 2013 season in what hopes to be their best season ever.
The Roswell Invaders will wear Lime Green Hats for the 2013 Season. Their hats will have their traditional R across the front of the them. The hats will also feature an Alien Spaceship on the side and the New Mexico Flag on the back. On Friday Night home games, expect the Invaders to pull the Trifecta, Lime Green Hats, Lime Green Pants and Lime Green Jerseys. These will be made by Zephyr and be much higher quality than the Invaders hats of 2011-2012. The Invaders will have new Lime Jerseys which will be their primary jerseys. The Invaders will also have a new ballpark in NMMI. The Invaders will have a new coaching staff and begin signing players in October 2012.

The Roswell Invaders are getting ready for the 2013 season alot earlier than many of the other teams in the Pecos League. They will hold a meeting August 28th to begin regrouping for the 2013 season. The Invaders lead the Pecos League in attendence in 2011 and won the regular season and post season crown. In 2012 the Invaders finished 3rd in the regular season and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. The Invaders finished dead last in paid attendence.
It obvious to any baseball person or fan that NMMI is the premier baseball facility in Roswell.
The Invaders choose to goto Coca Cola Park because of alcohol sales in 2010 when the team was formed.
After two seasons of playing in Coca Cola Park it might be time to move to NMMI.
This will be the 3rd year in a row the Pecos League has met with NMMI. Alcohol got in the way the first two years. According to the New Mexico Board of Alcohol NMMI can apply for and sell alcohol in their facility.
They can get a governmenal beer license. Now whether that happens or not is another story. NMMI is about as conservative of an institution that exists. It stands for New Mexico Military Academy.

I don"t think people care if we play at Hondo Park as long as keep the Invaders in Roswell. Roswell was our best city in 2011 and I believe it can be one of our top cities in 2013. We have proven success in Roswell in 2011 and the other five cities in the Pecos League in 2012.
The City of Roswell has done a first class job in supporting us at Joe Bauman Park and we will continue to stay there if we have to. It is time to seriously consider NMMI. " says Andrew Dunn of the Pecos League.

Within two weeks the Invaders will know where they will play and who will be coaching the team. The Pecos League has an offer outstanding to a potential coach. "We have made an offer to a coaching staff and we will see where things go. Roswell Native and Goddard graduate
Roswell Native and Goddard graduate Eric Zagone was sent to the Joliet Slammers today by Chris Paterson. Zagone pitched for White Sands (Alamogordo) this season. He had several impressive starts including one in Roswell against the Invaders. The Slammers did not qualify for the playoffs and their own publicly stated they needed 1000 more fans per night to make money.

What a difference a year makes. This time last year, the Roswell Invaders were celebrating a League Championship, but today the 2012 Invaders are saying good bye and heading home after a third place finish. But, in the eyes of Roswell Invaders fans this year’s team was just as much champions as last year’s.
From the opening night, we knew we had a team with determination and grit. Down one run, bottom of the ninth inning, tying run on second, 2outs, 2balls, 2strikes, Patrick Penyo hit a walk off home run. At that point the fans knew they were in for a special season. Manager Simon Walters joked about never having an easy win, but confessed that the guys never believed they were out of a game no matter what the score.
The season was filled with ups and downs, but also full of great moments and memories. Moments like Jacob Almarez’s diving catch in left field to rob an Alpine Cowboy of an RBI and end the inning, Liam Zenge-O’Brien pitching a one hit shutout, or Andrew Hancsak hitting a home run on the first pitch that he saw as a professional. Message to Roswell Invaders Fans and Supporters.
We have received alot of calls and feedback from members of the Roswell Community wondering if the Invaders will be back for the 2013 season. At this time the Pecos League has full intentions of bringing the Invaders back and never had intentions of not playing in Roswell in 2013.
The Pecos League will begin to evaluate and restructure the Roswell Invaders so they can be a great team and organization moving forward.
We will realize the huge success the Invaders had in the 2011 season and have hopes that this level of success and support can be obtained again. We have heard from numerous members of the community and realize the frustrations and problems the community had with the 2012 season.
We will move forward and ask that you help support the Invaders in the 2013 season. We can assure you the team will be operated in first class manner like the other 7 teams in the league. We would also like to thank our host families and loyal supporters who have stood behind the league and the team during these times.

The Lights went off at Kokernot Field with Alpine leading Roswell 13-2 in the 7th inning.
The game was called a final game by field umpire Jared Palladino after the lights would not come back on.

The First Game of Doubleheader betw
The First Game of Doubleheader between Alpine and Roswell ended in a 6-6 tie that was ruled in a forfeit win for Alpine. Mark Gomez pitched the 7th inning of the game for Roswell. He was not on the lineup card. Alpine manager Ryan Stevens protested that Mark Gomez was not on the lineup card despite pitching the entire 7th inning for Roswell. "Manager Simon Walters either didn"t know the rules or tried to be slick. Simon thinks he is smarter than everyone and rules don"t apply" says Plate umpire Jared Palladino who ruled the game was a forfeit. This is the first forfeit in the history of the Pecos League. The two teams played the 2nd game of a doubleheader.

The Roswell Invaders and Alpine Cowboys will play their final makeup game on July 27th as part of a doubleheader in Alpine. This will part of a six game series to end the season. This series will determine who has home field advantage in the playoffs as these teams are currently tied for first place. The Opening Series of the year between these two teams featured three rainouts and only two games. One of the games was made up earlier in the year in Roswell.

Reed Brown ended his Roswell Invade
Reed Brown ended his Roswell Invaders Career on Friday Night with a complete game win over the Santa Fe Fuego.
He allowed only 11 runs which was plenty with his Invaders Offense scoring 26 runs at Fort Marcy Park.
The Invaders had 29 hits and had the following home runs: M.Miller (2), J.Cakebread (8), B.Ramirez (2), A.Kam (5), M.Petty (4), M.Umba (2). The Invaders head to Trinidad today to open a series with the Triggers.
As for Reed Brown he ends his time with the Invaders as the Pecos league as the all time leader in innings pitched with 111.2 innings in two years. He found a way to neutralize hitters in the purely offensive Pecos League. In the 2012 season Reed with 4-0 with 6.57 ERA with 44 innings pitched. In the 2011 season Reed was 7-2 with a 4.52 ERA with 67.2 innings pitched. He was a mainstay rotational starter on the Invaders inaugural championship team.

ROSWELL -- Of their 14 wins this season -- to only two losses -- the Invaders probably played their best all-around game Wednesday in an 8-2 victory over Raton.
"I think tonight just showed how we can play the game of baseball," said Roswell manager Chris Ebright. "We have a run on second base, no outs, we hit behind him. Runner on this, less than two outs, we got him in. We didnt have to out-slug anybody and we played the game of baseball."
That game started with pitcher Jonathan Sa, who five-hit the Osos through 6.2 innings, striking out six and walking only four. He did give up the only Raton runs -- in the seventh, Matt Lynch walked, Brian Gregory and Louie Saenz singled, and Gregory scored on a put out -- but there could have been more, as twice he and the defense got out of bases-loaded situations.
"He had the bases loaded twice and I think he got the double play both times," Ebright said. "He got ground balls like he should. He concentrates extra hard with the bases loaded -- I wish hes concentrate that hard with nobody on -- but all around, it was a great baseball game."
That first sticky situation came in the sixth, when Sa gave up a single to Vince Smarnellli then walked the next two batters, but a 4-6-3 (Vincent Mejia to Ryan Normoyle to Nate Theunissen) ended that threat, then, in the seventh, the second run scored on a 5-4-3 (Chad Kruse to Normoyle to Theunissen) DP, which luckily for the Invaders cleared the bases, because Steadman Smith came up and doubled.
Jesus Carlos then came in to strike out the final batter of the inning, and two of the three he faced in the eighth, with A.J. Martin closing out the ninth.
Offensively, Roswell scored off three Oso pitchers.
They started with a run in the first off Brian Hicks when Kruse doubled and Normoyle singled him home. The big Invader inning was the fourth.
With one out, Theunissen and Andrew Deeds walked, then, with a second out on the board, Matthew Faiman walked and Kruse hit a 2 RBI single. Normoyle followed that with another 2 RBI single to put the Invaders up 5-0.
Roswell got two more runs in the fourth off Tim Sylvester, again scoring with two outs.
After Kruse singled, Reggie Taylor walked and Vincent Mejia singled in Kruse. Taylor then came in on a wild pitch. The final Invader run came in the sixth when Normoyle advanced all the way to third on an error by the left fielder then came home on an error by the catcher.
A vey disappointed Raton manager Ray Hancock understandably did not want to talk after the game, but Ebright was happy to praise his players, especially Sa, who shut down the hot-hitting Osos.
"I dont know what pitches he was throwing, but he kept them off balance tonight. I know hes throwing at least three pitches for strikes, and he definitely kept the middle of their order, whos been punishing us the last two nights, I guess, he kept them off balance and he did really well."
As to the offense, "I actually gave a couple of guys a rest tonight, and the other guys came through. Thats always a good thing to have," the manager said.
Theunissen was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Kruse 3-for-5 with three runs and 2 RBI and Normoyle continued his hot hitting in front of his father, going 3-for-4 with one run and 2 RBI.
"Hes been doing well," Ebright said. "His dads here. His dad should come here more often."
The teams will wrap up the four-game Roswell home stand Thursday, then the Invaders head south to Alpine while Raton goes to White Sands.
Andrew Plotkin stars as the Alpine Cowboys defeat the Roswell Invaders 7-4
ROSWELL -- After five innings of not looking good at all, the Roswell Invaders bounced back yet again Sunday, going from a 5-0 deficit vs. White Sands to a 7-6 victory. And the key to the win was a pitcher, pinch hitter Jonathan Sa, who tied the game at 6-6 in the eighth before Erick Gaylord gave Roswell the one run edge. Jacob Cook then came in and got the Pupfish one-two-three in the ninth to give the Invaders their sixth straight win.
"Our guys keep battling," said Invader manager Chris Ebright. "Kids kept battling. Tip your hat to his starting pitcher. We couldnt figure him out."
White Sands came into the game looking strong, as the bats made contact and starter Justin Kuks shut the Invaders down.
The Fish went up 3-0 in the second when Case Rigby singled; Cody Collins reached on an error then, after Rigby was called out trying to get home, George Ban doubled and Ryan Pembroke doubled Collins and Ban in. Pembroke then scored on a wild pitch before Ed Kohout got the final out.
White Sands left the bases juiced in the third, but added a pair in the fourth when Pembroke walked, Kuks reached on an error and back-to-back singles by J.J. Constantino and Christian Ramirez brought the runners in.
Roswell finally broke their scoring drought in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two when Chad Kruse doubled, Matthew Faiman walked then, with two outs, a wild pitch and a VIncent Mejia single brought the runners in.
The Invaders made it 5-3 in the sixth off reliever Matt Barger when Gaylord walked, stole second, went to third on a walk and hit batter then came home on a fielders choice.
Roswell left the bases loaded -- something both teams did several times Sunday -- when Chad Hadzinsky got the final out.
The Pupfish got the run back in the seventh on a walk to Rigby, who advanced on a wild pitch and came home on an error.
But once again, Rowell wouldnt go quietly, getting out of another bases-loaded jam in the top of the eighth when they turned an error by first baseman Nate Theunissen into a double play that closed out the inning, then scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Sas heroics were set up when Faiman reached on a Pupfish error. With one out, Mejia and McCarthy each walked to load the bases, and this time, the runners came home,
Theunissen hit into a fielders choice that saw Faiman out at the plate, but reliever Michael Willis walked Andrew Deeds to force in Mejia and Sa came in to pinch hit, singling home two with a ball that bounced off the pitchers glove then took a bad hop past the infielder. Gaylord then singled in Deeds for what would be the winning run.
"Coach (Kevin) Dore and I had a feeling (about Sa), and thats what you do," Ebright said. "Had a feeling he could do it and we put him in there."
"They ended up getting runners on there then they got the hit when they needed it. Thats it. Thats baseball," said White Sands acting manager Andrew Parrish. "We just didnt get the timely hit when we needed it."
What made the win even sweeter for Roswell was that the team did do terrible early on.
"We didnt look good," Ebright said. "Offense, defense. We did not look good at all. It was just like we were kind of out of our rhythm. Maybe it was the early game, early time. I dont know what the reason was. We didnt have the enthusiasm we had until the second half, and a hit here and a hit there and good things happen."
The Pupfish out-hit the Invaders 11-8, and both teams made three errors. But 12 walks by four White Sands pitcher were enough to make the difference. Kuks, who was not involved in the decision, struck out 10 and gave up his first run of the season.
A.J. Martin got the win for Roswell with Cook getting the save.
The teams will meet again Monday in Roswell, and Parrish continued to think positive.
"Im not worried about what theyve got going," he said. "I know what weve got here and we can beat that team. We beat ourselves right there. As simple as that. They got the timely hit and we walked a few guys and that hurt us right there and once they got the hit they got the lead. But we can play with these guys any day. Im not worried about that. Weve got a squad."
Ebright said the six-game opening streak doesntworry him.
"No. I dont think you get nervous at all," he said. "Weve still got 64 more games. Its (a loss) going to happen. No team ever goes 70. Its not going to happen. Weve still got 64 more games. Ill take these as we go."
First pitch Monday is set for 6 p.m.

The Roswell Invaders hosted a kick off party on Saturday Night. The Party welcomed the new coaches, the players and the fans. The players took BP, there was a concert, food and a balloon ride. Simon Walters, Billy Horn and Andrew Dunn were on hand to meet fans and talk Invaders Baseball. There was a higher than expected turnout as fans are ready for Invaders Baseball to get started.

The Roswell Invaders are pleased to announce their newest sponsor/partner the Frontier Motel.
Bipin Bahkta and Andrew Dunn agreed that the Frontier Motel will house all visiting teams, umpires and followers of the visiting teams. The rate at the Frontier Inn is around 1/2 of the other rooms in town and it is located directly across the street from the Pizza Hut Food sponsor. Roswell New Mexico has the highest priced hotel rooms anywhere in the Pecos League due to the Alien Fever that strikes ever summer that attracts tourists from all of the U.S. The Frontier Motel has been a stable for baseball fans for years. It served as many families stopping point on the way to Big League Spring Training and Arizona. Bipin Bahkta also owns a property in Alamogordo and will throw out the first pitch at a Pupfish game this season.

The Roswell Invaders have released their 2012 uniforms.
Both can bought in the Roswell Invaders Store.
They will wear two jerseys Lime and Navy. The Lime jersey will be the primary jersey. It will again be the top seller in the Pecos League. It will be very similar to their 2011 jersey just with additional patches. The Lime Jersey will feature the following five patches. Fans can custom order their size and numbers.
The State of New Mexico Flag, Roswell Toyota, Pioneer Bank, The Pecos League and the 2012 Pecos League Champions.
The Roswell Invaders signed Justin
The Roswell Invaders signed Justin Yackee and Chris Wakefield for Spring Training Contracts.
Both of these players attended the Atlanta Georgia Tryout Camp hosted by Andy May.
Justin Yackee is a converted side arm pitcher from Powder Springs, GA. He played college baseball at North Georgia. Chris Wakefield came from Northern Illinois.

In the off season news where Alamogordo has installed a swimming pool in right field and Trinidad is creating their own beer, Roswell has found a way back into spotlight. Rawlings has begun production of the Alien Baseball which is a Rawlings Major League style ball with Lime Green Seems and Navy writing. The Invaders did not speak to or get approval from longtime A"s owner Charley Finley but he would have surely given the thumbs up. Las Cruces Vaqueros director of operations Miguel Salcedo says "What is wrong with these people from Roswell? They have taken this alien thing too far. " When the computer image generated throughout Roswell local fans thought they were cool and can"t wait to get one for themselves. Trinidad Manager Justin Lowery said "I wouldn"t expect anything less from the league and from Roswell, I am surprised Rawlings can make a Lime Green Baseball. If it is Lime Green it will be in Roswell. It makes us want to beat them even more. " The Baseballs will be for sale to the public at the UFO Museum and on the PecosLeague.com Website in late April.
