A group of Roswell Invaders loyal supporters have begun to make their push for the Invaders to move into NMMI for the 2012 season and beyond.
The group claims NMMI is located in the heart of Roswell and has a much better facility than Coca Cola Park. The surface the lighting and the location are far better at NMMI than at Coca Cola Field.
The Pecos League previously met with NMMI in 2010 before agreeing to occupy Coca Cola Park.
The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is the nation"s only state-supported, co-educational college preparatory 4-year military high school and junior college.
The Roswell Invaders won the inaugural Pecos League Championship and have a strong fan base.
Coca Cola Park was home to the original minor league teams in the 1960"s that occupied Roswell.
Coca Cola Park offers one of the best club houses in the Pecos League and great parking.
However, Roswell does not have a municipal license at the park and
the lease at Coca Cola Park is four times higher than any other lease in the Pecos League"s New Mexico/Colorado Teams.
A decision will be made in January it will be interesting to see how NMMI would handle beer sales but it is possible as NMMI is in process of possibly selling beer at the golf course when class is out of session.

The Roswell Invaders won the Pecos League Championship in their inaugural season but they are probably more famous for their uniforms.
Now the Roswell Invaders will sell their team merchandise at the world famous UFO Museum Gift Shop.
The Museum will boost Invaders Merchandise sales even more they will begin selling Merchandise November 8th.
It finally gives fans a local place to buy their Invaders gear. The Pecos League has had a huge request of where fans can get gear locally.
The Invaders had offers from many retailers in town to sell their amazingly bright gear with R Hats and Alien Baseballs. The UFO Museum is one of the top five tourist destinations in the state of New Mexico and will be a great fit for merchandise sales. The Operators of the Museum and the Gift Shop are both Invaders Fans.

Playoff Preview Alpine-Roswell
Alpine vs Roswell Friday-Saturday-Sunday at Coca cola Park 7PM MST.
Season Series split 4/4.
These two teams are expected to have quite a battle in the first round.
Alpine looks to ride the pitching of aces Scott Shimek and Alfredo Caballero.
Brian Hobbs will serve as the closer in the playoffs. Former Carlsbad Bats Bryant Asnicar and Steve Merslich look to be anchors in the bullpen.
Offensively the Cowboys will go with Tyler Hicks, Jason Simone, Kyle Wells, Nacho Ochoa, Andrew Riddick as their top 5 hitters.
James Kono will anchor the defense at Shortstop. Austin Newell, Zach Welch and Javier Arrieta will round out the Cowboy Lineup. The Cowboys had the fewest transactions in the Pecos League. Coach Ryan Stevens has kept things together for a competitive club.
The Cowboys won the the Continental League in 2010 but it will be a much steeper task to beat Roswell and to beat the winner of Whites Sands/Roswell back to back.
The Roswell Invaders boast the leagues deepest pitching staff and best bullpen. The Invaders also have the league"s MVP in Clifton Thomas.
Trivon Howard, Justin Uribe and Brian Ramirez have rotated in the other outfield spots. Brycen Bell is the teams every day shortstop.
Josh Cakebread will play 2b. Joey Friedman will catch. Adrian Martinez will be DH and backup catcher. Matt Palko will play 3b. Josh Grady will serve as closer.
Reed Brown, Adam Polston, Brandon Godfrey, Seth Marchant, and Dakota Laufenberg are ready to serve as needed.

Ruidoso Osos 18 Roswell Invaders 17-
On June 18th the Ruidoso Osos hosted the Roswell Invaders, the game ended at 17-17 in a tie due to darkness. The game was supposed to resumed on August 1, but rain stopped the efforts. The game finally ended when in the 12th inning Eddie Brown had a bloop hit that fell in for the winner. This game feature tons of milestones and amazing stats.

Alot of new sports team have their largest crowds on opening night and the fans never return. There is always large hype with something new. In the Pecos League that has not been the case. Both Alamogordo and Roswell have been at the top of the Pecos League attendance and have had their largest crowds during the middle of the season. Last night with attendence of around 764. The stadium can comfortably hold around 400, this forced both sidelines to be filled. The team has averaged around 330 per night which has been better than expected. Joe Bauman was jumping with an organ player, cold beer and the Invaders in Lime Green Jerseys. The Invaders did not disapoint winning 3 of 4 games from a hot Carlsbad Team. If the season were to end today Roswell would host best of three playoff series and if they won the series they would host the Championship Series.

Taka was found on side of road by Mrs McClain who is a host family for the Roswell Invaders, we are in process of getting Taka back to Japan. Taka is extremely confused and homesick. Taka is in good health and doing well. He did not feel like boarding the plane due to fever.

Takanori Sasaki has been reported as a missing person by the El Paso Police Department.
Detective Aguirre from the El Paso Police Department has opened a case to locate Taka.
Below are the details. On Thursday July 14, 2011 The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs received a call that Takanori Sasaki had a mental breakdown in his host families house. Karen Bohler his host family and fellow Japanese teammate Yoshinori Machida settled him down. On Friday July 15, 2011 Taka headed to El Paso to catch a plane to go back to Japan. Taka never got on the plane and on Tuesday July 21, 2011 the Pecos League office received a call from the Consulate Japanese. Ghisito from the Consulate has taken charge of trying to locate him. Diego from the rescue mission of El Paso last saw Taka Tuesday at Noon. Diego says "He does not know his current whereabouts. The case in the hands of the detective and Taka is sick. He is not at the Rescue Mission. The last I knew is Taka was going to Las Palmas Hospital. I dropped him off there and he did not want to check in. He is a free man I can"t tell him what to do. He got dropped off at the hospital he said thank you and he walked in." Diego drove him there, Taka got out of the car and has not been seen since. He has no ID card and the search process has begun. Taka spent the entire 2010 season in Alpine with the Big Bend Cowboys and part of this season with the Roswell Invaders.

Brian Fowler will be the latest player to leave the Pecos League for a higher level league. Brian will be heading to the Frontier League"s Joliet Slammers. "This is a great opportunity for Brian" says manager Chris Paterson. Brian is the 4th player this week to be promoted to a higher league. Brian is the only player in the history of the Pecos League to throw a complete game 9 inning shutout.

Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs does not support the actions of the managers, team or staff from the Roswell/Las Cruces games 5/26/2011 or 5/28/2011...Both games had Las Cruces Vaqueros players empty benches. The Pecos League has warned all teams and coaches not to leave their dugouts and coaches to maintain space from umpires when questioning calls. Front Office Staff is to remain off of the field at all times. The incident of the night of 5/28 have been addressed. The Pecos League has sent apologies to the fans of both Las Cruces and Roswell and the city of Roswell as well as the umpires who worked the game. Measures have been take and we are looking to get this issue behind us and play ball.

Brian Fowler of Roswell threw a complete game shutout in Alpine on Thursday Night as the Invaders became the only road team in the history of the Pecos League to win a game. He became first pitcher to throw a complete game in brief history of Pecos League.
Herbert Lara has lead Las Cruces to 7-1 start he leads all Pecos League players with 8 stolen bases, 17 hits, 10 walks and has even added a home run to his profile. Meanwhile his glove has been steller at 2nd base for Las Cruces.

Justin Uribe pitched 5 scoreless innings and hit a home run to help the Invaders over the Osos and was named Pecos League pitcher of the week. After the Osos were scoring runs by the Dozen, Justin came in and threw up zeros leading the Invaders to victory. He also hit the game tieing home run.
Justin Smith from White Sands hit 3 home runs against the Las Cruces Vaqueros and made several eye stopping plays for the White Sands Pupfish to be named hitter of the week.

Ruidoso Osos 18 Roswell Invaders 13-The first ever game in the Pecos League was played in Ruidoso New Mexico on 5/10/2011. The Ruidoso Osos outslugged and outlasted the Roswell Invaders 18-13 in front of many new and curious baseball fans.
Not only was the game played at 7000 feet elevation the infield was as hard as cement and there was a head wind blowing out to centerfield at around 15 mph. This was the ultimate hitters game Jerome Dunning lead the way for the Osos going 4-5.
Drew Peterson had three hits. Leo Madrid threw 3 innings only allowing 1 run picking up the win for the Osos. The Invaders worn Lime Green Pants and Navy Jerseys for the inaugural game. The Osos worn brown jerseys and creme pants on their side.
The winds were extreme and caused the two teams to combine for 32 runs. The Pecos League truly lived up to its name of high power offenses are fueled by high altitudes and smaller ballparks. The winds were considered extreme by many in Ruidoso. Box Score

The Roswell Invaders played their first ever game in team history on May 4, 2011 at Cohen Park against the El Paso Diablos from the American Association. Clifton Thomas was their first ever hitter and Nick Shoup was their first ever pitcher. The Invaders won the game 10-7. The Invaders out hit and out pitched the Diablos. The Diablos had a very rough time with their pitchers. The Invaders broke the game open with a 5 run 2nd inning.
Adrian Martinez from LA lead the way offensively catching the entire game. Troy Frazier had two hits. Brian Ramirez had a key bases loaded double. The entire Roswell team battled with every at bat. Nick Shoup started allowed one run. James Lapressi threw the 2nd inning allowing 4 runs. Mike McCravey pitched the third inning. Josh Grady pitched the 4th inning in dominant fashion. Evan Jauneux pitched the 5th inning.
Brian Fowler pitched the 6th inning. Anthony Correra pitched the 7th inning. Brandon Godfrey started the 8th inning, Charles Williams pitched the back 1/2 of the 8th. Reed Brown closed the game for the Invaders. Brent Burger threw the 10th inning..The Invaders will play the first ever Pecos League Game against the Ruidoso Osos on May 10th in Ruidoso.

The Roswell Invaders reported to Spring Training on May 2, 2011 to some excited fans and some different circumstances.
The cold weather and the dry desert greeted the players to New Mexico for the first time. Two of the pitchers threw bullpens preparing for the El Paso Diablos Game on 5/4.
The team took BP and will practice again on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Joe Bauman field still has a ways to go as the mound needs repair and the outfield needs watering to be prepared for opening day which is May 13th when the Invaders host the Osos.
Chris Paterson will be doing some shake up to his roster over the next week. Tickets are on sale by calling 680-2212

Chris Paterson has assembled a very good team expected to live at the top of the Pecos League Standings. The Invaders have made quite a splash for a team that has never taken the field. The Invaders lead the league in off season merchandise sales with their lime green and navy UFO look, the uniforms have been so popular the game jerseys have been on back order since April 10th. The R hats have sold 2nd most in the Pecos League to the Alpine Cowboys. The Pecos League plans to put a quality form of family entertainment on the field with the Invaders and have the Invaders as a fixture of summer activities in Roswell for many years to come. Roswell was the key expansion city in the formation of the Pecos League for the 2011 season. The Invaders play exhibiton opener vs the El Paso Diablos May 4th in El Paso, Regular Season Opener May 10th at Ruidoso, Home Opener May 13 vs Ruidoso and the Exhibition Opener for the San Angelo Colts on May 21 in San Angelo.

The Roswell Invaders will play a doubleheader against the San Angelo Colts in beautiful Foster Field in San Angelo, Tx on May 23, 2011. This will serve as the only exhibition game between the North American League and Pecos League. The game will serve as a meet and great for San Angelo Colts Season Ticket holders and a final cut day as the last day of Colts Spring Training. It serves as an off day for the regular season for the Roswell Invaders. Last year the Las Cruces Vaqueros and San Angelo Colts played a similar doubleheader. On Wednesday the Invaders were on the docket at Roswell City Hall to amend their lease at Joe Bauman Park to include alcohol. After presentations and a Q and A session the Invaders won the vote (6 Yes 2 No 1 Absent). With Approval the Invaders are in process of finalizing talks with distributors for sale of beer at games.
Eastern New Mexico University at Roswell agreed to sponsor the Invaders Lime Green Pants, ENMUR will have a patch on the infamous Lime Green Pants.

The Roswell Invaders have announced they have traded Taylor King to Sioux City of the American Association. Taylor will be competing for the #4 starters spot in Sioux City Spring Training according to Stan Cliburn.
Taylor is from Victoria, British Columbia Canada and this is one of many future transactions between the American Association and the Pecos League. Roswell Coach Chris Paterson will miss King who was slotted to be Roswell"s #2 starter but has replacement plans in the making.

When the Roswell Invaders team was announced in August 2010 the team colors were originally Black and Royal Blue a very modern traditional baseball look. The local Roswell Community quickly informed the leaders of the Invaders there needed to be a change. The unofficial/official colors of Roswell were lime green and navy due to Roswell being the UFO Capital of the world. So with the exception of the Seattle Sounders MLS Team and the Sacramento Surge of the World League of American Football the Invaders will be the only team to take the field wearing lime green. The Roswell Invaders will don Navy Jerseys with Lime Green Pants and Pin Stripe Pants Grey with Navy Pins. The Invaders will also don Lime Green Jerseys with White Pants. And possibly once during the season the Invaders will go Lime on Lime...The Invaders will wear Navy Hats.
