A group of Roswell Invaders loyal supporters have begun to make their push for the Invaders to move into NMMI for the 2012 season and beyond. The group claims NMMI is located in the heart of Roswell and has a much better facility than Coca Cola Park. The surface the lighting and the location are far better at NMMI than at Coca Cola Field. The Pecos League previously met with NMMI in 2010 before agreeing to occupy Coca Cola Park.

The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is the nation"s only state-supported, co-educational college preparatory 4-year military high school and junior college.

The Roswell Invaders won the inaugural Pecos League Championship and have a strong fan base. Coca Cola Park was home to the original minor league teams in the 1960"s that occupied Roswell. Coca Cola Park offers one of the best club houses in the Pecos League and great parking. However, Roswell does not have a municipal license at the park and the lease at Coca Cola Park is four times higher than any other lease in the Pecos League"s New Mexico/Colorado Teams.

A decision will be made in January it will be interesting to see how NMMI would handle beer sales but it is possible as NMMI is in process of possibly selling beer at the golf course when class is out of session.

The Roswell Invaders won the Pecos League Championship in their inaugural season but they are probably more famous for their uniforms. Now the Roswell Invaders will sell their team merchandise at the world famous UFO Museum Gift Shop. The Museum will boost Invaders Merchandise sales even more they will begin selling Merchandise November 8th. It finally gives fans a local place to buy their Invaders gear. The Pecos League has had a huge request of where fans can get gear locally. The Invaders had offers from many retailers in town to sell their amazingly bright gear with R Hats and Alien Baseballs. The UFO Museum is one of the top five tourist destinations in the state of New Mexico and will be a great fit for merchandise sales. The Operators of the Museum and the Gift Shop are both Invaders Fans.

August 17 2011 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Ruidoso Osos 7-1 at Coca Cola Park, scoring 11 hits while limiting Ruidoso to five. Roswell established control with two runs in the first inning and two more in the second before adding two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Ruidoso�s only run came in the fourth inning.

Roswell right fielder M. Mooney went 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. Brian Ramirez was 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs, while Clifton Thomas added two hits and a triple. Ruidoso�s Jonathan Means and Chris Juarez each collected two hits, with Means recording the Osos� lone double.

Andy Wells earned the win for Roswell after allowing one run on three hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out 10. S. Marchant and I. Hernandez each worked a scoreless inning in relief, combining for two strikeouts.

Edgar Correa took the loss for Ruidoso, allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits in two innings. Chris Welborn followed with three runs allowed over three innings, while Erick Campos and Josue Iniguez held Roswell scoreless over the final three innings.

August 16 2011 The Ruidoso Osos defeated the Roswell Invaders 5-3 after scoring all five of their runs in the third and fourth innings. Ruidoso collected 10 hits while Roswell finished with five. The Osos built a 3-0 lead in the third and added two runs in the fourth to take a 5-1 advantage.

Chris Juarez led Ruidoso with three hits and two runs. Joel Carranza added a double and two RBIs while Eddie Browne drove in two runs. Drew Peterson contributed a triple and an RBI, and Jason Hyland recorded two hits. Roswells Trivon Howard had two hits and two RBIs, while Clifton Thomas added an RBI.

Alan Gatz earned the win for Ruidoso after allowing four hits and three runs, two earned, in seven innings. He walked three and struck out four. Andrew Plotkin secured the save with 1.2 innings of one-hit relief and three strikeouts. Roswell opened the scoring with one run in the first inning and broke the game open with a six-run fourth. Alpine answered with two runs in the fourth and a six-run seventh to take a 9-7 lead. The Invaders tied the game with two runs in the eighth before scoring twice in the 11th to secure the victory.

Brian Ramirez led Roswell with three hits, two runs and two RBI, including a home run. Josh Cakebread added two RBI and a double, while Justin Uribe drove in two runs and Clifton Thomas had one hit and one RBI. For Alpine, Nick Ochoa went 3-for-5 with two runs, three RBI and a home run. Javier Arrieta added three hits and two runs, while David Valesente collected two RBI.

Roswell built an early 3-0 lead through three innings, then broke the game open with seven runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth. Alpine finished with seven hits and committed three errors while Roswell had one error.

Clifton Thomas led Roswell�s offensive attack by going 6-for-6 with three runs and four RBI, including two doubles. Trivon Howard went 4-for-6 with four runs and two RBI, while Brian Ramirez drove in four runs and went 2-for-5. Brycen Bell added a two-run home run, and Josh Cakebread and Joey Friedman each collected three hits.

Alpine�s Andrew Riddick hit a two-run home run and finished with two RBI. Eric Garcia went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while David Valesente reached base four times with three walks and scored once.

Alpine vs Roswell Friday-Saturday-Sunday at Coca cola Park 7PM MST. Season Series split 4/4. These two teams are expected to have quite a battle in the first round.

Alpine looks to ride the pitching of aces Scott Shimek and Alfredo Caballero. Brian Hobbs will serve as the closer in the playoffs. Former Carlsbad Bats Bryant Asnicar and Steve Merslich look to be anchors in the bullpen. Offensively the Cowboys will go with Tyler Hicks, Jason Simone, Kyle Wells, Nacho Ochoa, Andrew Riddick as their top 5 hitters. James Kono will anchor the defense at Shortstop. Austin Newell, Zach Welch and Javier Arrieta will round out the Cowboy Lineup. The Cowboys had the fewest transactions in the Pecos League. Coach Ryan Stevens has kept things together for a competitive club. The Cowboys won the the Continental League in 2010 but it will be a much steeper task to beat Roswell and to beat the winner of Whites Sands/Roswell back to back.

The Roswell Invaders boast the leagues deepest pitching staff and best bullpen. The Invaders also have the league"s MVP in Clifton Thomas. Trivon Howard, Justin Uribe and Brian Ramirez have rotated in the other outfield spots. Brycen Bell is the teams every day shortstop. Josh Cakebread will play 2b. Joey Friedman will catch. Adrian Martinez will be DH and backup catcher. Matt Palko will play 3b. Josh Grady will serve as closer. Reed Brown, Adam Polston, Brandon Godfrey, Seth Marchant, and Dakota Laufenberg are ready to serve as needed. Roswell has the league"s best record and most come from behind wins.

August 10 2011 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Las Cruces Vaqueros 12-1 after collecting 13 hits and scoring in four innings. Las Cruces finished with 10 hits but managed only one run, which came in the first inning. Both teams scored once in the opening frame before Roswell moved ahead with three runs in the third.

Roswell broke the game open with six runs in the fourth inning, taking a 10-1 lead. The Invaders added two runs in the seventh and held Las Cruces scoreless over the final eight innings. Roswell hit three home runs, with Clifton Thomas, Mike Mooney and Bo Bell each leaving the yard.

Thomas went 3-for-3 with a home run, triple, three runs and three RBI. Josh Cakebread collected four hits in five at-bats, scored twice and drove in a run. Mooney added a home run and three RBI, while Adrian Martinez had two hits and two RBI. Brian Ramirez and Bell each contributed a hit and an RBI.

August 9 2011 The Las Cruces Vaqueros scored in each of the first five innings and defeated the Roswell Invaders 10-3. Las Cruces finished with eight hits and took advantage of two Roswell errors, while the Invaders collected 10 hits but scored all three of their runs in the eighth inning.

Las Cruces opened the game with three runs in the first inning without a hit, using walks, a wild pitch, a passed ball and a Roswell error. The Vaqueros added three runs in the third, three more in the fourth and one in the fifth to build a 10-0 lead. Dan Pembrooke hit a home run in the fourth inning and finished with one hit and four RBI. Harry Williams Jr. scored three runs, drove in one and drew three walks, while Juan F. Martinez had two hits and one RBI. Colt Loehrs also had two hits and stole two bases.

Roswells offense was led by Mooney, M., who went 4-for-5, and Clint Stottlemyre, who hit a home run and drove in three runs. Jake Bruns, Adrian Martinez and Williams Jr., E. also recorded multiple-base hits for the Invaders, who scored three times in the eighth on three hits.

Las Cruces built a 5-0 lead through five innings with one run in the first and two runs apiece in the fourth and fifth. The Vaqueros broke the game open with four runs in the sixth two in the seventh and six in the eighth. Roswell scored once in each of the sixth and seventh innings two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth.

Mike Duckworth went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and one RBI for Las Cruces. Dan Pembrooke added two hits three runs and three RBI including a home run while Henry Fuentes hit a two-run homer and finished with two hits two runs and two RBI. Juan F. Martinez contributed two hits and three RBI and Rob Herrmann drove in three runs.

August 6 2011 The Roswell Invaders held off the White Sands Pupfish 9-8 in a back-and-forth game at Coca Cola Park. Roswell collected 10 hits and overcame White Sands� 14-hit attack to secure the victory, with Josh Grady earning the win and Jacob McBride taking the loss.

Roswell scored in the first and fourth innings before both teams broke through in the fifth. The Invaders scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-3 lead, but White Sands answered with three runs in the sixth to tie the game. Roswell moved back in front with two runs in the eighth, and each team scored once in the ninth as the Invaders preserved the one-run victory.

Adrian Martinez led Roswell with three hits, including a double and a home run, and drove in three runs. Brian Ramirez added two RBI, while Trivon Howard collected two hits, scored three runs and stole two bases. Joey Friedman and Kevin Hoef also drove in a run apiece for the Invaders.

White Sands received a standout performance from Jamaal Jackson, who went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. Ruidoso Osos 18 Roswell Invaders 17- On June 18th the Ruidoso Osos hosted the Roswell Invaders, the game ended at 17-17 in a tie due to darkness. The game was supposed to resumed on August 1, but rain stopped the efforts. The game finally ended when in the 12th inning Eddie Brown had a bloop hit that fell in for the winner. This game feature tons of milestones and amazing stats.

Case Rigby went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI for Ruidoso. Jerome Dunning added two hits, two runs and an RBI while stealing three bases. Kip Masuda scored twice and hit a double, and Sean Proni scored twice, drove in a run and drew three walks. Jonathan Means contributed a two-run pinch-hit single, while Chris Davis also drove in two runs.

Alot of new sports team have their largest crowds on opening night and the fans never return. There is always large hype with something new. In the Pecos League that has not been the case. Both Alamogordo and Roswell have been at the top of the Pecos League attendance and have had their largest crowds during the middle of the season. Last night with attendence of around 764. The stadium can comfortably hold around 400, this forced both sidelines to be filled. The team has averaged around 330 per night which has been better than expected. Joe Bauman was jumping with an organ player, cold beer and the Invaders in Lime Green Jerseys. The Invaders did not disapoint winning 3 of 4 games from a hot Carlsbad Team. If the season were to end today Roswell would host best of three playoff series and if they won the series they would host the Championship Series.

Roswell plated three runs in the first inning, added three more in the third and scored once in the fourth. Carlsbad answered with one run in the first and two in the ninth, but could not complete the comeback.

Adrian Martinez and Matt Palko each hit a home run for Roswell and drove in three runs. Martinez went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, while Palko finished 1-for-4 with one run. Clifton Thomas added two hits, two runs and one RBI, and Josh Cakebread scored once and collected a hit. Roswell finished with eight hits and one error.

Taka was found on side of road by Mrs McClain who is a host family for the Roswell Invaders, we are in process of getting Taka back to Japan. Taka is extremely confused and homesick. Taka is in good health and doing well. He did not feel like boarding the plane due to fever.

Release Update 7/21/2011 10:05 AM MST Takanori Sasaki has been reported as a missing person by the El Paso Police Department. Detective Aguirre from the El Paso Police Department has opened a case to locate Taka.

Below are the details. On Thursday July 14, 2011 The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs received a call that Takanori Sasaki had a mental breakdown in his host families house. Karen Bohler his host family and fellow Japanese teammate Yoshinori Machida settled him down. On Friday July 15, 2011 Taka headed to El Paso to catch a plane to go back to Japan. Taka never got on the plane and on Tuesday July 21, 2011 the Pecos League office received a call from the Consulate Japanese. Ghisito from the Consulate has taken charge of trying to locate him. Diego from the rescue mission of El Paso last saw Taka Tuesday at Noon. Diego says "He does not know his current whereabouts. The case in the hands of the detective and Taka is sick. He is not at the Rescue Mission. The last I knew is Taka was going to Las Palmas Hospital. I dropped him off there and he did not want to check in. He is a free man I can"t tell him what to do. He got dropped off at the hospital he said thank you and he walked in." Diego drove him there, Taka got out of the car and has not been seen since. He has no ID card and the search process has begun. Taka spent the entire 2010 season in Alpine with the Big Bend Cowboys and part of this season with the Roswell Invaders.

The Pecos League has warned all teams and coaches not to leave their dugouts and coaches to maintain space from umpires when questioning calls. Front Office Staff is to remain off of the field at all times. The incident of the night of 5/28 have been addressed. The Pecos League has sent apologies to the fans of both Las Cruces and Roswell and the city of Roswell as well as the umpires who worked the game. Measures have been take and we are looking to get this issue behind us and play ball.

Roswell finished with 10 hits and overcame a three-run fourth inning by Las Cruces, which answered with two runs in the sixth. The Invaders added two runs in the seventh to secure the win.

Roswell pitcher Brian Fowler earned the victory after allowing eight hits and five runs over six innings while striking out seven and walking none. Fowler also contributed at the plate with a home run and two RBI. Yoshinori Machida worked two scoreless innings before Anthony Carrillo closed the game with a scoreless ninth to record the save.

Bo Bell led Roswell with three hits in four at-bats, while Josh Cakebread went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Las Cruces first baseman Harry Williams produced the games top offensive performance for the Vaqueros by going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Dan Pembrooke added two hits and Juan F. Martinez had two hits for Las Cruces.

Luis Carreras took the loss for Las Cruces after surrendering nine hits and eight runs in six innings. Only three of the runs were earned, and he struck out six without issuing a walk. Andy Watson followed with two scoreless innings. Roswell committed two errors and Las Cruces made six in the game.

Roswell built an 8-4 lead through five innings after scoring twice in the first, three times in the third and three times in the fifth. Las Cruces answered with two runs in the sixth and three in the ninth, but Roswell added a run in each of the eighth and ninth innings to secure the victory.

Las Cruces collected 14 hits, led by Herbert Lara�s three-hit performance, which included two home runs and two runs scored. Juan F. Martinez also had three hits and two RBI, while Gerardo Caceres added two hits and two RBI. Roswell had 11 hits, with Adrian Martinez going 2-for-4 with two RBI, Matt Palko contributing two RBI and Joey Friedman and Josh Grady each collecting two hits.

Reed Brown earned the win for Roswell after pitching one inning and allowing three runs on three hits. Josh Grady started for the Invaders and worked six innings, giving up six runs on 10 hits while striking out seven. May 26 2011 The Las Cruces Vaqueros defeated the Roswell Invaders 15-13 in a high-scoring game at Coca Cola Park. Las Cruces collected 16 hits and overcame a five-run first inning by Roswell, while the Invaders finished with 14 hits and six errors.

Roswell led 5-3 after the first two innings and remained ahead 12-8 through five. Las Cruces then scored five runs in the sixth to take a 13-12 lead. The teams traded a run in the seventh before Las Cruces added an insurance run in the ninth. The Vaqueros scored in seven of the nine innings and had 15 runs on 16 hits.

Bo Bell drove in six runs for Las Cruces and hit a home run, while Mitch Saum went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Steve Detweiler added three hits, and Gerardo Caceres and Juan F. Martinez had two hits apiece. For Roswell, Brian Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI, while Matt Palko was 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. May 21 2011 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Roswell Invaders 3-1 at Kokernot Field, scoring in the third fifth and sixth innings before Roswell answered with its lone run in the seventh. Alpine finished with six hits and no errors while Roswell collected seven hits and committed one error.

Javier Arrieta led Alpine by going 2-for-2 with two runs an RBI and a walk. Tyler Hicks and Mike Marion also drove in runs for the Cowboys. Roswell�s Joey Friedman went 2-for-2 and Clifton Thomas scored the Invaders� seventh-inning run.

Stephen Szkotak earned the win after allowing four hits and no runs in 5.2 innings. He struck out three and walked one. Reed Alfieri recorded the save despite allowing one run on three hits in 1.1 innings with two strikeouts. Roswell starter Mike McCravey took the loss after giving up two runs on five hits in 4.1 innings.

Alpine scored once in the fourth inning and added another run in the sixth to secure the win, while Roswell was held scoreless through six innings.

Kevin Foeman earned the win after allowing one hit and two walks with three strikeouts in three scoreless innings. Greg Denton followed with three hitless innings, striking out two to record the save. Roswell starter Josh Grady took the loss despite allowing two runs on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Kyle Wells led Alpine with two hits and scored one run, while C. Collins also collected two hits and drove in a run. James Kono added a hit and an RBI, and David Valesente scored Alpine�s other run with one hit. Clifton Thomas accounted for Roswell�s lone hit and also drew a walk.

Justin Smith from White Sands hit 3 home runs against the Las Cruces Vaqueros and made several eye stopping plays for the White Sands Pupfish to be named hitter of the week.

May 14 2011 The Roswell Invaders rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Ruidoso Osos. Ruidoso scored twice in the second inning, but Roswell answered with single runs in the fifth and sixth before pushing across the go-ahead run in the 11th inning.

Roswell outhit Ruidoso 8-2. Justin Uribe went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI, while Clifton Thomas collected two hits including two doubles. Adrian Martinez also doubled, and Trivon Howard drove in two runs. Ruidoso�s two hits came from Eddie Browne and J. M. Scumaci Jr.; Drew Peterson provided the Osos� lone RBI despite going hitless and drawing two walks.

Ruidoso starter J. M. Scumaci Jr. worked seven innings and allowed six hits and two runs while striking out nine. Roswell used five pitchers, with Justin Uribe throwing five scoreless innings and Reed Brown recording the win after a scoreless final inning with two strikeouts. Roswell�s pitching staff held Ruidoso without a hit over the final four innings.

Ruidoso Osos 18 Roswell Invaders 13-The first ever game in the Pecos League was played in Ruidoso New Mexico on 5/10/2011. The Ruidoso Osos outslugged and outlasted the Roswell Invaders 18-13 in front of many new and curious baseball fans. Not only was the game played at 7000 feet elevation the infield was as hard as cement and there was a head wind blowing out to centerfield at around 15 mph. This was the ultimate hitters game Jerome Dunning lead the way for the Osos going 4-5. Drew Peterson had three hits. Leo Madrid threw 3 innings only allowing 1 run picking up the win for the Osos. The Invaders worn Lime Green Pants and Navy Jerseys for the inaugural game. The Osos worn brown jerseys and creme pants on their side. The winds were extreme and caused the two teams to combine for 32 runs. The Pecos League truly lived up to its name of high power offenses are fueled by high altitudes and smaller ballparks. The Roswell Invaders played their first ever game in team history on May 4, 2011 at Cohen Park against the El Paso Diablos from the American Association. Clifton Thomas was their first ever hitter and Nick Shoup was their first ever pitcher. The Invaders won the game 10-7. The Invaders out hit and out pitched the Diablos. The Diablos had a very rough time with their pitchers. The Invaders broke the game open with a 5 run 2nd inning. Adrian Martinez from LA lead the way offensively catching the entire game. Troy Frazier had two hits. Brian Ramirez had a key bases loaded double. The entire Roswell team battled with every at bat. Nick Shoup started allowed one run. Roswell Invaders land The Roswell Invaders reported to Spring Training on May 2, 2011 to some excited fans and some different circumstances. The cold weather and the dry desert greeted the players to New Mexico for the first time. Two of the pitchers threw bullpens preparing for the El Paso Diablos Game on 5/4. The team took BP and will practice again on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Joe Bauman field still has a ways to go as the mound needs repair and the outfield needs watering to be prepared for opening day which is May 13th when the Invaders host the Osos. 2011 will mark the 1st year the city of Roswell will host the a professional team in Coca Cola since the 1960"s. The Invaders hope to get support from the community. Chris Paterson has assembled a very good team expected to live at the top of the Pecos League Standings. The Invaders have made quite a splash for a team that has never taken the field. The Invaders lead the league in off season merchandise sales with their lime green and navy UFO look, the uniforms have been so popular the game jerseys have been on back order since April 10th. The R hats have sold 2nd most in the Pecos League to the Alpine Cowboys. The Pecos League plans to put a quality form of family entertainment on the field with the Invaders and have the Invaders as a fixture of summer activities in Roswell for many years to come. Roswell was the key expansion city in the formation of the Pecos League for the 2011 season. The Invaders play exhibiton opener vs the El Paso Diablos May 4th in El Paso, Regular Season Opener May 10th at Ruidoso, Home Opener May 13 vs Ruidoso and the Exhibition Opener for the San Angelo Colts on May 21 in San Angelo.

This will serve as the only exhibition game between the North American League and Pecos League. The game will serve as a meet and great for San Angelo Colts Season Ticket holders and a final cut day as the last day of Colts Spring Training. It serves as an off day for the regular season for the Roswell Invaders. Last year the Las Cruces Vaqueros and San Angelo Colts played a similar doubleheader. On Wednesday the Invaders were on the docket at Roswell City Hall to amend their lease at Joe Bauman Park to include alcohol. After presentations and a Q and A session the Invaders won the vote (6 Yes 2 No 1 Absent). With Approval the Invaders are in process of finalizing talks with distributors for sale of beer at games.
Eastern New Mexico University at Roswell agreed to sponsor the Invaders Lime Green Pants, ENMUR will have a patch on the infamous Lime Green Pants.

The Roswell Invaders have announced they have traded Taylor King to Sioux City of the American Association. Taylor will be competing for the #4 starters spot in Sioux City Spring Training according to Stan Cliburn. Taylor is from Victoria, British Columbia Canada and this is one of many future transactions between the American Association and the Pecos League. Roswell Coach Chris Paterson will miss King who was slotted to be Roswell"s #2 starter but has replacement plans in the making.

Roswell Invaders Uniforms are out of this world. When the Roswell Invaders team was announced in August 2010 the team colors were originally Black and Royal Blue a very modern traditional baseball look. The local Roswell Community quickly informed the leaders of the Invaders there needed to be a change. The unofficial/official colors of Roswell were lime green and navy due to Roswell being the UFO Capital of the world. So with the exception of the Seattle Sounders MLS Team and the Sacramento Surge of the World League of American Football the Invaders will be the only team to take the field wearing lime green. The Roswell Invaders will don Navy Jerseys with Lime Green Pants and Pin Stripe Pants Grey with Navy Pins. The Invaders will also don Lime Green Jerseys with White Pants. And possibly once during the season the Invaders will go Lime on Lime...The Invaders will wear Navy Hats.
