Steig Drives In Four as Invaders Defeat Fuego, 6-3

Taylor Steig homered and drove in four runs while Noah Cantleberry delivered seven strong innings as the Roswell Invaders defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 6-3 on July 20, 2026.

ROSWELL, N.M. – The Roswell Invaders collected 15 hits and used a big second inning to defeat the Alpine Cowboys 10-5 on Sunday at Joe Bauman Stadium.

Alpine struck first with two runs in the opening inning and added another in the second to take an early 3-1 lead. Roswell answered immediately, erupting for four runs in the bottom of the second inning to seize control of the game.

The Invaders continued to build their advantage with two more runs in the fourth and three additional runs in the sixth. Alpine added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings but could not keep pace with Roswell"s offense.

Taylor Steig powered the Invaders lineup, going 2-for-5 with a double and five RBIs. Ryan Torres had a strong day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Sean Moore added three hits and scored twice, while Xander Nabors contributed two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.

For Alpine, Sal Diaz provided the biggest offensive spark, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. Billy Rivera collected three hits and drove in a run, while Julian Aguilera scored once and reached base four times via three walks and a hit.

Colin Sepulveda earned the victory for Roswell, allowing four runs on five hits over five innings. Mason Sinner worked three innings out of the bullpen, and Sean Moore closed out the ninth inning.

Ryan Avalos took the loss for Alpine after allowing five runs in two innings. Bradley Burdett followed with 3.1 innings of relief, while Nick Brady and Daylan Bower combined to finish the game.

Roswell improved behind a balanced attack that produced 10 runs on 15 hits, while Alpine finished with five runs on seven hits.

Zach Tallerman powered Alpine’s offense, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored, and five RBIs.

Cade Labruyere scored five runs, stole two bases, and added an RBI double.

For Roswell, Ethaniel Almendariz homered and drove in a run, while Xander Nabors tripled and drove in one run.

Claudio Corrales earned the win for Alpine, and Cole Edwards finished the game with four innings of relief, striking out seven and allowing one run.

Alpine finished with 19 runs on 10 hits. Roswell scored 4 runs on 4 hits and committed 3 errors.

Alpine Cowboys defeated the Roswell Invaders 12-4 on May 29, 2026.

Roswell jumped ahead early with single runs in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings to build a 4-0 lead.

Alpine broke through in the fifth inning with three runs, then added three more in the sixth to take control of the game.

The Cowboys put the game away with a five-run seventh inning and added one more run in the eighth.

PECOS, Texas — May 28, 2026 — The Pecos Bills exploded for 25 runs on 23 hits Thursday night, defeating the Roswell Invaders 25-5.

Roswell scored first in the opening inning, but Pecos answered with four runs in the bottom of the first and then broke the game open with a 10-run second inning. The Bills added five more runs in the third and continued to pull away from there.

Juan Avila, Brevin Brisack, and Derrick Cancel each drove in five runs for Pecos. Cancel homered and finished with three hits, while Dylan Hartmann also homered and drove in three. Anthony Hampton went 4-for-7 with three runs scored, and Auden Venegas added three hits and four RBIs.

Roswell’s offense was led by Taylor Steig, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Carson Kirby doubled and drove in two runs, while Ethaniel Almendariz tripled and added two RBIs.

Calvin McClendon worked six innings for Pecos, allowing five runs while striking out eight. The Bills bullpen followed with three scoreless innings from Clayton Evans, TJ Carter, and Eric Yelding.

Pecos finished with 25 runs, 23 hits, and no errors. Roswell had five runs, 10 hits, and no errors.

PECOS, Texas — May 27, 2026 — The Pecos Bills overcame an early deficit and defeated the Roswell Invaders 13-7 at Chevron Field.

Roswell started fast, scoring three runs in the first inning, three more in the second, and one in the third to build a 7-1 lead. Pecos responded in the fourth inning with a six-run rally to tie the game and then took control with runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings.

The Bills finished with 13 runs on 18 hits, including five doubles, two triples, and a home run. Pecos scored six runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in the sixth, and two more in the seventh to complete the comeback.

Xander Nabers powered Roswell’s offense with a home run and five RBIs. Sean Moore added two hits and two runs, while Taylor Steig drove in a run for the Invaders.

For Pecos, the offense was balanced throughout the lineup, as the Bills collected 18 hits and drew 12 walks. Bilar Whittle drove in a run, and Pecos repeatedly capitalized with runners in scoring position.

Roswell finished with seven runs on 10 hits and no errors. Pecos scored 13 runs on 18 hits and also played error-free baseball.

After managing the KC Iola Hormigas

After managing the KC Iola Hormigas in 2025, and the Austin Weirdos in 2024 and 2023, Derick Dominguez has been named the new manager of the Roswell Invaders. He replaces Garrett Totty who is moving to manage in Blackwell.

"I know the history of Roswell and the goal is to bring that back" Derick said. "It is the toughest schedule and highest competition the Pecos League has with Alpine, Pecos and Tucson."

Derick expects a competitive team and a turnaround from the Invaders 9-41 campaign in 2025.

"I"ll be bringing some of KC Hormigas guys with me"
