July 23 2024 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Roswell Invaders 5-1 at Kokernot Field. Alpine finished with seven hits and no errors while Roswell collected five hits and committed one error.
Alpine scored once in the first inning and added another run in the fifth before breaking the game open with three runs in the sixth. Roswell’s lone run came in the sixth, but the Cowboys maintained the lead through the final inning.
John Tuttle went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a walk for Alpine. Kyle Rodriguez added an RBI on a 1-for-2 performance, while Josh Rego contributed an RBI as a pinch-hitter. James Prockish and Tuttle each doubled, and AJ Folds and Drake Angeron each tripled. Lucas Scott drove in Roswell’s only run.
Kacey Cheek earned the win after allowing one run, unearned, on five hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked two. Liam Reynolds completed the victory with a hitless seventh inning and one strikeout. Roswell starter Alex Bolton took the loss after allowing two earned runs on five hits in five innings, and Tristan House allowed three earned runs in one inning of relief.
