July 6 2024 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Blackwell Flycatchers 18-12 in a high-scoring game at Morgan Field. Roswell collected 14 hits and committed no errors while Blackwell finished with 11 hits and four errors.
Roswell built its lead with two runs in the second inning, three in the third and two in the fourth. The Invaders added four runs in the sixth and one in the seventh before breaking the game open with six runs in the eighth. Blackwell scored four runs in the third, two in the fourth, three in the sixth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth but could not overcome the late deficit.
J. Walker led Roswell with two hits, four runs and five RBIs. J. Sanchez went 3-for-6 with five RBIs, while S. Morrow added two hits, three runs, three RBIs and two home runs. L. Scott had two hits and an RBI, and A. Marquand also collected two hits. For Blackwell, J. Dice and D. Martinez each had two hits and two runs; Dice hit a home run and drove in three runs, while D. Burroughs homered and finished with four RBIs.
Jordan Rodriguez earned the win after allowing three runs on one hit in one inning. B. Lopez, Roswells starter, worked 4.1 innings and allowed six runs on seven hits with five walks and two strikeouts. Blackwell starter B. Levandowski took the loss, surrendering seven runs, six earned, on five hits in four innings.
