Roswell Invaders Rally Past Santa Fe Fuego 17-11

June 18 2024 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 17-11 at Joe Bauman, overcoming an early deficit in a high-scoring contest. Santa Fe scored five runs in the first inning and added two in the second to take an 8-2 lead after three innings, but Roswell answered with seven runs in the fourth to move in front 9-8. The Invaders added one run in the fifth and five more in the sixth before scoring twice in the eighth to secure the win. Jonathan Cavazos led Roswell with three hits, four runs and two RBI. Luis Moreno scored four runs and collected two hits, including two doubles, while Lucas Scott, Jose Sanchez and Alex Marquand each drove in three runs. Shane Morrow added two hits and two RBI, and Roswell finished with 17 hits and 12 walks. Kole Renken powered Santa Fe’s offense with three hits, a home run and five RBI. Rodney Scarver scored three runs, drove in two and drew three walks, while Dominic Scotti had two hits and Sean Bennett added a double. The Fuego totaled 11 hits but committed five errors, compared with one error by Roswell. Jordan Rodriguez earned the win for Roswell after recording the final out of the game with a strikeout. Jafet Palma struck out two in a scoreless inning, Jorge Canez fanned three in a hitless scoreless inning and Sabastian Velez allowed one run in one inning. Santa Fe starter Jon Garza took the loss after allowing seven runs on eight hits in four innings.
