July 7 2023 The Garden City Wind defeated the Roswell Invaders 22-2 behind an 18-hit attack at Joe Bauman Park. Garden City scored three runs in the third inning, added five in the fifth and fifth in the sixth before breaking the game open with nine runs in the eighth. Roswell scored once in the first and once in the eighth while finishing with five hits and two errors.
Leo Gallegos led the Wind offense with three hits, four runs and nine RBI, including a home run. Najay KIng added three hits, two runs, four RBI and a home run, while Terry Daniels went 4-for-5 with four runs and two RBI. Devon Zielke had two hits, three runs and an RBI, and Brian Hawkins and Cole Lee each contributed two hits. Garden City also received two hits and an RBI from Zachary Elias.
Cole Lee earned the win after allowing four hits and one run over seven innings. He walked one and struck out six in the 94-pitch outing. Tynan Shahidi worked the final inning, allowing one run on one hit.
Rene Ramirez took the loss for Roswell after surrendering 10 hits and 12 runs, 10 earned, in 5.1 innings. Colton Adams hit a home run for the Invaders and drove in one run, while Seth Schroeder also had a hit and an RBI.
