July 16 2020 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Houston Apollos 11-10 in a high-scoring nine-inning game. Roswell collected 12 hits and Houston finished with 13, while both teams committed four errors.
Roswell built its lead with three runs in the second inning, two in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth. Houston answered with two runs in the ninth inning, but Roswell held on after the Apollos had scored in five of the first nine innings.
Coleton Horner led Roswell with a 3-for-4 performance that included three doubles, three runs and three RBI. Ian Yetsko went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, while E. Geraci drove in three runs and went 2-for-3. Ausar Rankin added two hits and an RBI.
Houston received home runs from Tevin Brown and Christian Briscoe. Brown went 2-for-6 with two RBI, and Briscoe was 2-for-5 with three RBI. Aaron Stubblefield scored twice and drove in a run, while Michael Flohr added two RBI.
Elvin Jorge earned the win for Roswell after allowing four hits and two earned runs in 4.1 innings, striking out five and walking seven. Mike Wilson took the loss for Houston, surrendering nine hits and seven earned runs in four innings. Roswells A. Merithew struck out six in 4.2 innings and Houstons Nick Coffman allowed three hits and two runs over three innings.
